Why do they let these people swim so far out. How many people do you have to save a day in this water. It doesn’t make sense to me. I live in New Jersey on the beach and if it’s really rough, they don’t let you go that far.

Ive never been fond of the signs on Bondi. The flags colors are also strange to me. Seeing how there are so many tourists and that a great many speak little or no English it seems like the colors should be internationally recognized. So I think of traffic lights. Red, yellow & green. The safe swimming areas should be marked with green flags and the no swimming areas should have signs with red backgrounds. Maybe change the design and have them say NO SWIMMING, DANGEROUS CURRENTS in large print in the top 5 tourist languages. The little swimmer with a big X over him, making it difficult to decipher at first glance, isn't working. Use Yellow for caution signs like for blue bottles. Might want to consider not calling Portuguese Man-O-War blue bottles which doesn't sound dangerous at all. Call them PMOW or Jelly Fish and post it in the top 5 tourist languages too. Just my ideas to help make the lifeguards jobs a bit easier.
